Coombe House is situated in the heart of unspoilt countryside one mile from the centre of Liskeard, at the head of the Looe Valley. The market town of Liskeard provides a variety of shops, banks and a post office. Liskeard can be reached by taxi, by train from Coombe Junction Halt or (of course) by private car. To get to Coombe House if you were coming from Plymouth (for example):
- take the A38 exit to Liskeard Town Centre.
- Drive through the centre of town following all the signs to the Railway Station.
- Once you have passed the Railway Station follow the road until you come to a sharp left hand corner.
- Turn right on this corner and go down Lamellion Hill.
- You will pass the hotel on your right.
- Follow the road down for about a quarter of a mile. there is then a turning to the left by some houses.
- Follow this lane for another quarter of a mile.
- You will see a sign on your right for Coombe House.
- Go down this small lane to the railway crossing. This is a very quiet branch line to the fishing town of Looe.
- Please remember to telephone the signal box before crossing
- Simply use the phone provided to ask if "it's OK to cross at Coombe" to make sure there are no trains coming.
- Please also make sure you close the gates on your arrival and departure.
